We stopped at Sierra Vista which is almost next door to Holly's Hill. When we arrived there wasn't much of a crowd, but by the time we went down the wine list, the modest looking tasting room was getting rather full. It was a clear day and we could see the snow capped peaks of the Sierras in the distance which gives the winery it's name and the logo that adorns their bottles. The staff in the tasting room was very friendly. I have had their Fleur de Montagne before and liked it. It is their CdP version and the 2005 offering was no different. Also, the 2005 Syrah was very tasty and incredibly priced at $11.50/bottle!! They had a late harvest 2006 Viognier Doux which would make a great sipper after dinner on a warm evening. I also had the chance to try Lynelle (non vintage)which is a blend of Grenache, Cab and Syrah; an unusual blend I thought but it all seemed to come well together.
