1999 Ridge Lytton Springs "Zinfandel"

70% Zin, 17% petite Sirah, 10% Carignane, 3% Mataro
This is a "WWW** bottle. The fruit is bright and opulent without being overbearing. Briary and brambly with perhaps a hint of cassis. Complex, with a lengthy peppered finish. Very structured with enough tannin and acidity to take this wine many years down the road. Some American Oak that the fruit handles quite well.
Happy I have 4 or 5 more bottles to drink over the next 5-8 years.

Delish!

I had the '99 Geyserville a few weeks ago, and it was great too!

I had a half-bottle of this wine back in Dec. WWW indeed! Alas, I have no more of it.

Love the '99 Lytton too. My last one was thoroughly enjoyed after a remarkably crappy day this Fall. I went long on that vintage, but not near long enough.

Still have a 750 and a mag of the '99 Geyserville, so I'm glad to hear they're still doing well.

Cheers,

Dave

David Nelson,
Nice to see you hanging out in these parts. What was a bit odd is that the label didn't provide the usual drinking window. Rather, Draper extolled the virtues of the wine as being one of the best Lyttons ever and he may even likened it to the 1974. I'll have to double check about that when I get off-the -road later in the week.

Mark,
Hey, if you ever get a hankering for the 99 Lytton, I'm only a relatively short drive from Laugh-a-lot....I'll even provide real stems (no plastic beer cups  )

Take care gents,
Wm.
