WTN: 2005 La Pousse d'Or Santenay 1er Cru Clos Tavannes

2005 La Pousse d'Or Santenay 1er Cru Clos Tavannes - France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Santenay 1er Cru (1/3/2008)
Deep red color is followed by a minty, spicy black and red fruit nose. Lots of raspberry and blackberry fruit on the palate with plenty of depth and solid tannic grip. Good framing acids complete a finely balanced wine where the red fruit lingers on the back of the palate. Impressive, and a step up from the very good 2002 that I bought in quantity a few years back. (91 pts.)

Thanks for this note. I was able to pick up a few of these in Boston where demand on the '05's are pretty crazy. They are nicely resting. Any thoughts as to the ageability of these? You note a nice tannic and acid structure or at these more mid term?

It's still just Santenay. Since I bought in 375s I'm going to enjoy them whenever I feel like it, but I would think mid-term is as far as I would go with fulls. It's still much more accessible and friendly than many 2005s at this stage. Try one, as you may really like it now.
