2005 Vollenweider Wolfer Goldgrube Riesling Spätlese - Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer (12/22/2007)
Opened for the crew at Bassin's (Macarthur) in D.C.

Pale, nearly non-existent color. Apple, lemon, orange and stone in a creamy aromatic blend. Very creamy on the palate, reminding me of the 2001 Christoffel Urziger Wurzgarten Auslese*, and rich in fruit and minerals. Very well balanced, even in its primary fruit phase, with mouthfilling presence and very good length. (93 pts.)
