- 2001 Joseph Swan Vineyards Zinfandel Stellwagen - USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Valley (12/18/2007)
I had this over two nights and really loved it. A beautifully controlled zin. Nose of Sweet cinnamon. Lingering cinnamon and dried cherry. I decided to move it to a pinot glass….aahh even more showing. Small amounts of bordeaux like minerals and leather. Great fruit on the palate. Not too ripe or heavy. Small amounts of vegetation as well. A food wine through and through. Something that has become more rare when it comes to zin. $23 ... are you kidding me. I liked everything about this. (93 pts.)
- 2005 Core White Blend 613 Alta Mesa - USA, California, Central Coast, Santa Barbara County (12/14/2007)
Tropica fruitl followed by flowers and cream. Somewhat heavy mouth feel. Interesting. Could use more acidity. Touch of sherry. A nice wine with good complexity. Great to find a wine of this depth at this price.

Cheers,
Jason

I had the '03 of this, and it was also very nice. I'm going to have to shift to the 6 bottle Swan club membership to get a wider variety of wines...
Cheers, Jim
