- 1994 Claude Dugat Charmes-Chambertin - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru (12/15/2007)
Color - light, a bit cloudy, cherry red. Fruity on the nose, with some dusty cedar. Full in the mouth, tasty black cherry, a little smoky meat. Long finish. Still a considerable amount of tannin. A bit of a beast, but very tasty. Drinks like a 5-year old wine. - 1994 Geantet-Pansiot Charmes-Chambertin - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru (12/15/2007)
Dark red in the glass; clear. Tight, acidic nose. Opened up quickly after decanting. Much leaner than the Dugat. Tannins are integrated. Bright, light fruit. Clean, acidic finish. I prefer this a little to the Dugat. But both were very, very fun to drink.
