Maipo Valley.
Dark red in the glass.
Woody, drying nose.
Creamy, very charred, black cherry, spicy, drying, chocolate, turning hard, rough and rather shrill (with a bit of alcohol burn) toward the end.
Bitter and hard on the finish.
The first half of the wine is much better than the last half. This has been one of our go-to wines for a number of years but I didn't care at all for this bottling. Strangely enough, my wife, who isn't a big Cabernet fan, liked this much more than I did. Go figure.
Purchased at $9.95 (Canadian).
