WTN:05 Carlisle Two Acres & 05 Carlisle Zin Carlisle Vineyard

I decided to kill a couple of young Carlisles

Nice aromatics. Bold spice and great fruit. Red berries go from the nose to the very front palate. Once the wine settles in you mouth it becomes a bit sloppy. Very ripe. Too much prunes for me. Enjoyable but it definitely needs some time to settle down. Wait at least a year. (88 pts.)

Purple fruit and flowers. Mineral elements as well. Gives me the impressian the wine willl be heavy. On the palate this wine is oh so young. This is the youngest Two Acres I have tasted. The palate is smooth and somewhat heavy. I had over 2 nights but the wine did not budge much. Still pleasurable and interesting but will be much more enjoyable in a few years. My only worry is the way the alcohol pops through on the finish. If the fruit catches up to it, I can see marking this up be a few points. I'll continue to by this wine every year(91 pts.)

Cheers,

Jason
