WTN: Château d'Armailhac 2004

Château d'Armailhac 2004

Tight and a bit angular with a juicy, chewy, dark backbone. Toasted oak with some resin and coffee, a bit fuller bodied and sweeter than many other 2004 Bordeaux. This is drinking fairly well now and should better in a few years, although I don't guess that it will be a wine for laying down long term. At $20-25 this would be a very nice wine to buy by the case, at $30-40 it's a bit of a stretch.

Anyone have any opinions on the 2000 vintage of this wine? I have 4 bottles, but I'm betting that they'll be better with some time, so I haven't touched them.

I know. I know. That's the way I tend to buy wine, very broadly, but very shallowly.
