Tonight I shot a 9 pt. buck, my first after 30+ years of deer hunting and celebrated with a 2001 Beringer Spring Mt. Napa Cabernet, bought recently in D.C. What a nice wine and smoother than expected for a Spring Mt. Cab. at this age. Lots of cassis with good acidity and tannins but not especially complex. I actually prefered it over a Beringer 2001 PR that we opened yesterday(lots of cedar) to celebrate another 9 pt. buck that a friend shot on our property also. I still have a valid tag so would like to shot a big doe that may not be as strong as this buck!
