WTN: 2007 Domaine Moillard Beajolais Nouveau

I hate Beaujolais Nouveau. Grapey, flabby, insipid wines barely deserving of the Beaujolais name. But when we visited a friends house for Thanksgiving, upon entering he handed me a glass of the aforementioned wine.

I was thinking, "Oh Great...can I get this down quick enough to get something else." Yet I found myself heading back to the bottle for a refill.

Yes...a Beaujolais Nouveau that I liked. No doubt its a simple wine, but it has a snappy acidity usually so lacking in most nouveaus. The nose is reminiscent of kind of a Fleurie Lite...heady florals w/ hints of banana. On the palate its strawberry w/ a touch of pepper & grape. Kind of a short finish, but all in all an enjoyable wine.

About $10.00 and goes great with Thanksgiving fare or just by itself. Very low alcohol quaff.
