WTN: Peninsula Ridge Sauvignon Blanc 2006

by Bruce Hayes » Sat Nov 03, 2007 2:39 pm

Niagara Peninsula.

A rich nose, aromatic and floral with some pine resin.

Peppery, very tangy, lemon and juicy ruby grapefruit, spicy, good acidity, quite intense. The wine also showed a bitter bite of grapefruit rind that seemed to intensify with each glass, becoming rather wearing.

A lemony, tart and mouthwatering finish.

A big and bold wine that is marred somewhat by the strong bitter streak.

Purchased at $15.15 (Canadian).
