1988 Drouhin Nuits Roncière

Tasted immediately after a Riesling, so I was afraid that it might fall flat on its face, but was surprised to see that it was up to the challenge. Very pleasant, easy-sipping, tasty wine, with just enough character left to declare, "I'm not dead yet!"

Drink now.

1998 Perrot-Minot Mazoyeres-Chambertin

Exceptionally penetrating - got deep, deep down into my tastebuds, and made my jaw & my molars tingle just a little. If you like 'em young, then drink now, but if you prefer some age on 'em, then, considering that this one's already nine years old and still tastes like a barrel sample, you better be prepared to wait another thirty years [or more].

Was speed tasting at the time, but if I were in a point-giving mood, then this one would be a strong 95-100.

Thanks Chrish! Thanks Matt!
