WTN: Beronia Tempranillo "Elaboracion Especial" 2005

Rioja.
Gonzalez Byass & Co.

Lovely medium cherry red color.

Rich vanilla and toasty-charred notes on the nose. With time, this changed to vanilla and creamy cherries.

Loads of creaminess, fairly thick and weighty in the mouth, cherry, spicy, heavily charred, tart and drying toward the end. With time, the heavily charred aspect did calm down quite a bit.

A long drying finish with lots of vanilla.

A thick and rich and yummy wine.

Purchased at $17.95 (Canadian).
