Catherine Langlois, owner of Sandbanks Estate Winery . . . managed to accomplish something that other PR specialists and winemakers tear their hair about. Simply put, she has a brief period of time to harvest the grapes, and the job is labour intensive. Rather than hiring migrant workers, she recruited volunteers to get the job done, and was confident no grape would be left on the vine. To entice her crew, she provided a delicious lunch with fresh corn-on-the-cob, live music and plenty of wine. Over 100 enthusiastic volunteers drove from Quebec, Ottawa, Kingston and Toronto, and many spent the weekend in Prince Edward County.
