2005 Bearboat Pinot Noir Russian River Valley California. 11.5% alcohol. $20.99 at Beekman, Glen Rock.

Bright red color, medium hue, very good fruit and spice aromas and taste, some mint notes, medium mouth feel, good acidity, good balance, fairly long finish, easy sipping wine with a bit of dryness that added interest. 3*. Good EGA, especially mint aromas.

Very good match with broiled trout on spinach, steamed carrots and asparagus.

Notes:

Winery: Bearboat is aged in French oak for ten months. The wine has a beautiful cherry like color and has tastes of fresh strawberries and raspberries. The Bearboat Pinot Noir is a perfectly balanced red.
