WTN: Vina Tabali Carmenere Reserva 2005

by Bruce Hayes » Wed Sep 19, 2007 7:48 pm

Valle del Limari, Chile.

Dark red-purple in the glass.

Very green and veggy on the nose, which calmed down somewhat with time to reveal cherry, spices, creaminess and chocolate.

Green, drying, not much in the way of fruit, spicy and a bit of chocolate. The wine improved a bit with time, opening up and revealing a bit more complexity with some nice black cherry fruit, but it retained the bitter-green edge.

A drying, hot finish.

Not good.

Purchased at $14.95 (Canadian).

Yes, and how many deaths will it take 'til he knows
That too many people have died?
The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind.

You always were able to sum up a complex situation with a short, simple message. :D
