2004 Vincent Girardin Puligny-Montrachet Les Enseigneres Burgundy France. 13.5% alcohol. Imported by Vineyard Brands, Birmingham, Alabama. Daniel Haas Selection. $50 at Beekman, Glen Rock, NJ.

Pale yellow color, clear hue, wonderful aroma of Charodnnay fruit, light spice, mineral notes, very good fruit and light spice taste, a hint of oak, medium mouth feel, long lingering finish, a firm acidity but very smooth and sensual -- "comforting" according to the Wall Street Journal, and I agree -- a very pretty wine, that I think will improve with a bit of time but which is drinking very well now.

Went wonderfully well with a poached saumon blanc [hake but for the wine tonight] and very satisfying later all by itself.
