Massif d'Uchaux, Cotes du Rhone Villages.
Not much of a nose, drying and grainy tannins.
Tangy, raspberry, black cherry, very bright, good acidity, black licorice, slight bitterness, some tannins and rather firm. The wine went well with food but was quite hard and could, I believe, greatly benefit from a year or two in a cellar or at least from decanting.
I also found the 14 per cent alcohol a little high for a villages wine.
Purchased for around $40 (Canadian) from a restaurant wine list.
