Pleasant surprise at airport: Vino Volo

by Ray Juskiewicz » Tue Sep 04, 2007 12:46 pm

I got to the Seattle airport a little early yesterday and stumbled upon a wine bar called Vino Volo. Interesting wines, flights, reasonable prices (for an airport) and a comfortable environment. Plus some good nibbles. I really enjoyed the Beechers ziti and cheese with my Pinot Noir flight (that included an Apolloni, a Cristom and a Sineann). Makes flight delays less annoying.

Anyone else have an experience there? Apparently it's a chain with outlets in BWI, JFK, Dulles and Sacramento as well.

Ray, didn't know it was a chain, but I've talked up the Seattle location since it opened. What a little haven it is--comfortable deep leather arm chairs, nice music--you can actually forget you're at an airport.

Vino Volo also got a very favorable write-up in a recent Wall Street Journal

Maybe I'll check it out when I fly in there next month.
