Congratulations to the Semi-Cool Organizers

by David Lole » Sun Aug 26, 2007 9:02 pm

After talking to some of the attendee's today, and from all reports posted on the board thus far, this year's MoCool alternative weekend seemed to go off most successfully.

Although I'm resident many thousand of miles from the States, I'd like to congratulate all those who had the intestinal fortitude to get this important event on the calendar. I'm not fully aware of the names of the all the organizer's, but to you all - well done!

I know JuliaB and BobH reasonably well (in cyberspace, that is) and understand both had a fair swag in bringing home the bacon with this one; so to you both - congratulations on a job well done!

The only caveat I have is that we might just have to start talking about planning one or two (smaller) ones when I come avisitin' next year!
Cheers,

David

David, I will deflect any kudos dispensed my way, because JB did the lions share of the work. Semi-Cool was as one might expect a mini Mo'Cool, or one damn fine two day offline. Some really fine wines, especially on Saturday. Then I think of the gatherings in individual rooms and then the 1998 CndP taste off prior to the Saturday free for all. A great time was had by all.

Very noble of you, Bob, but from the considerable number of your posts (and their content) on this subject I've just counted, I'm afraid I'm not going to let you get away with any "deflecting". Good job, my friend.

Oh David, aren't you sweet?
I believe it is fair to say this SemiCool was a success. Next year, we'll go for Mo'! And you know, mate, when you hit our shores, the wine will flow!

Thank you for the kind words. BTW, the organizers were OW, BobH, the Noland Brothers and yours truly. A totally grouse group, if I do say so myself.

Bob, I did not take the marsanne with me to Semi-Cool. I tried every which way I could to think of a time we could open them and make a critical tasting of them. Two days and nights is definitely not enough! There is always next year though.

David,
As one of the Noland brothers, thanks for the kudos. However, I do share BobH's view that Julia was the "true" organizer. All those phone calls... The smoothness of the events this past weekend just proves that it was well planned. By the way, I have toured some wine country in Australia and was quite impressed with the people (and of course the wines :))

Bob,

Next time you come avisitin' our fine country, don't hesitate to look us up in Canberra, if you can see yourself clear for a few days.

It's a beautiful, clean, well-planned city and being the capital of Australia houses some remarkably fine historical and cultural institutions well worth visiting.
Cheers,

David,

As one of the Noland brothers I also appreciate the kudos, but I agree it was JuliaB as lead with her faithful second in command BobH, plus O W who were the real leaders. They were tireless in organizing the events and getting the details right. It was a great event that I think all really enjoyed. I have never had so many great CdPs at one time in my life. I am already looking forward to MoCool 08!
