A pastel yellow wine with a nose of fresh cut grass sprinkled with cat pee laced with touches of kerosene and kiwi (yes, I liked it very much). Bracing acidic kiwi and lime fruit on the midpalate. A long lingering finish with layers of spicy ginger, grass, and green pepper notes.
Food match: Pan fried tofu and baby bok choi in a spicy garlic and ginger peanut sauce. This really matched nicely with the wine as the peanut sauce cut through the acidity and brought the spicy ginger in the wine's finish.
Wine: 2006 Sauvignon Blanc Marlborough, Kim Crawford, 13% abv.
