Picked this one up recently for a very reasonable $13 or thereabouts. The vintage wasn't what I'd call an ideal one for reds, though there have been some good surprises based on what I've tried.
12.3% alc. Dark, saturated garnet colour; transparent though dark, with a clear garnet core. Big toasty oak aromas atop a nice Bordeaux-varietal nose comprising lithe blackcurrant, cherries and bell peppers. The oak is perhaps a bit heavy-handed for the fruit, but that seems to be the norm for Ontario-grown Bordeaux imitations. Pleasantly tart and dry on the entry with a lean structure, decent mid-palate tannins and a slightly tart, perhaps mildly underripe finish (again, it's 2004...).
This went well with the barbecued chicken kebabs and a simple tossed salad.
