1985 Salon Champagne Brut Blanc de Blancs - France, Champagne, Le Mesnil Sur Oger, Champagne (8/11/2007)
Opened for a pre-anniversary dinner, this was perhaps one of the best three or four Champagnes I have ever drank. Showing some of that Salon nutty/oxidative character along with rich, strong fruit it had all the pieces together, up to and including an amazingly long finish. Absolutely smashing with my tuna and salmon sushi & equally good with Laura's chicken sate.

Outstanding wine.

I had the pleasure of drinking this wine with Didier Depond during his last visit to Argentina some 2 years ago, and also remember it as memorable. I think it was my first taste of a 20 year old Champagne, and it was a real eye opener.
