2005 Jamet Cotes du Rhone
Ripe fresh and juicy with flavors that are very very black and deep, and fun. Although, the texture is a bit thin and lacking structure while the finish is a bit frazzled. All of which reminds you that this 7euro wine is best guzzled with joy while you can. At least I think so. Has anyone aged this bottling?

2005 Pierre Gonon St. Joseph
Here we have something thicker and more impressive than the Jamet CdR, along with a more subtle tannic structure. All of which justifies the price at more than 2x the Jamet. At first the flavors are achingly primary, but with air some florals and minerals emerge, and a complex package of chewy earthy tannins and juicy ripe fruit evolves. Will be nice to see how all these elements dance together in the future.

1995 Château La Louvière Pessac-Léognan
I don't drink much Bordeaux but we had two magnums of this last week, both of which were nice. Upon opening the funky cabbage smell was there, although it quickly disappeared leaving pleasant maturing red fruits to calmly dissolve in the mouth. However, on day two everything got deeper and more intense, with more weight, complexity, poise, etc, etc. That was the real show.
