Yes, do! I was (obviously) overjoyed with this one. I had three bottles originally and knew from discussion here to give the tannins in the Burgaud style a long rest, but the first bottle five years ago was not there yet. I have one more bottle, which we'll enjoy sooner than later.

Don't let anyone tell you that wine and salad don't go together!

Ha! It is often a touch match, but it sounds like the potatoes were potentially what took this salad in a different direction and gave it the savory heft for matching with wine? That and the fact that it wasn't too vinegary.

2015 Domaine de Pavillon de Chavannes Cuvee des Ambassades Cote de Brouilly, Beaujolais, France. Labeled as 12.5% abv. Bright, fruity with hints of orange zest amid red berries and cherries. I have liked this producer in other vintages also. Good qpr. Two Morgons coming up before the month ends.

2019 ESJ Bone-Jolly Ga-May tonight!

Yummy, as the Bone-Jolly always is. The fruit is distinctly strawberry. The finish turns toward red cherry. Refreshing and as more-ish as always.

David; I just noticed the above post today, and that you're referring to the '19, which I take to be the Rosé; am I right?
I don't know just how I'm supposed to play this scene, but I ain't afraid to learn...

Yes. Sorry I forgot to type rosé. :)

Good to see you! Yes, that's one I've liked too. Look forward to your notes on the other Morgons (get cracking, it's the 30th!)

2015 Foillard Morgon Côte du Py

So lovely. Rich warm berry fruit, but still juicy and ethereal detailed Foillard. A bit of age has been nice for the texture, smoothing it into lovely velvet (as opposed to the silk of leaner vintages), but never heavy for my tastes and still very (dangerously) drinkable. Bravo.

Sounds delicious. I just dug out a 2009 Foillard, but I won’t get to it until June.

Nice. I have one more '15 and am looking forward to it. Would love to have some '09. I remember enjoying a good amount shortly after release, it never seemed as heavy or disjointed as some of the other '09 Beaujolais.

2014 Antoine Sunier Morgon. Labeled as 12% abv. Quite darkly colored; nearly opaque. Grapey flavor suggesting purple grape skins and also some Chinese spice notes, clove and sour cherry. Rather disappointing I have liked some other Sunier Beaujolais but look for a little more from Morgon. I didn't get to the other Morgon I planned to open in May (was participating in virtual tastings sponsored by Benchmark Wines and benefiting United Sommelier Foundation to raise money for temporarily unemployed somms.) Will open that Morgon at another time.

I haven't decided yet what bottle or bottles I will open for the June focus but I look forward to something special and a fitting meal to complement it.

That, the sweetness/earthiness of the peas, and the fruit of the fresh lemon juice (dressed the potatoes separately and then poured more over the whole salad once assembled with the peas and potatoes on top).

I've never had a wine from Sunier. I presume you held some to taste the next day? I was totally disappointed in a '14 Dutraive two months ago, but wow the next day--everything I'd hoped for.

I've never had Antoine Sunier's wines, but his older brother Julien Sunier is very promising, if not yet on the level of my favorite Beaujolais.

I did try it the next day. I have had wines from Antoine Sunier and Julien Sunier. I liked a 2013 Julien Sunier Regnie. I have some more Regnie and Morgon to try plus one Fleurie.
