Hi Bill. Your mention of Silvaner reminded to take a looksie as to what was around my area. On a shopping expedition to West Ed Mall, I found time to visit the wine store in the mall and came across a 2014 Franken Silvaner from Weingut Brennfleck. Look forward to checking it out.

Hi Bob,

I haven't heard of Brennfleck, but Franken is going through a tremendous restructuring towards high-quality. It's probably the hottest region right now in Germany as far as buzz and young, up-and-coming producers goes. I hope your bottle is a good one!

Cheers,
Bill

Has anyone mentioned refosco. I had it recently at this winery in Santa Barbara http://californiawineryadvisor.com/wine ... rd-winery/. Very interesting aroma and flavor. The winemaker told me it is either loved or hated. Very strong reactions from everyone who tasted it.

Hi, Gregg, and welcome to the forum. I notice that both of your posts have linked back to an outside website. May I ask if the CaliforniaWineryAdvisor site is yours? We do have a firm rule that folks referencing their own business do so as gingerly as possible, and always take care to disclose the connection. We like to keep the forum free of spam, and I'm sure you understand that.

Thanks!

Gregg hasn't responded, so regretfully we de-activate his forum membership and mangle his links. He can redeem himself, if he so chooses, by sending me a message.
