Wine with Indian food? -Asimov

OK, I am from New England, and have lived there for 95% of my life. Chardonnay based Champagne, White Burgundy and non-over-the-top-oaky California Chardonnay are all great with lobster with butter or lemon. Beer is a terrible match IMO. Just awful.

Yeah, I was responding to the bubbly-with-Indian-food question. I'm with you on lobster. It just doesn't call for beer, while a rich white works well with its sweet richness.

Well we had Indian food in Canmore, Alberta tonight. Food was good, but I just had water. Dehydrated from hiking.

I'm neither the least nor the most sensitive to food/drinking pairings, but I'm completely comfortable with beer and lobster. But I'm also intrigued by the mismatch that your palate conveys. I'm heading out to Boston in a week or so...maybe we should get together and test this!
