Good points Peter. Think this is a flawed idea.

Oh for crying out loud..it was just meant as a fun exercise. pfft.

+1!!!

I have no idea which wines I think should be in the mix (though for California I think I'd nominate a Marcassin or Ceritas chardonnay, I tend to think, while admitting to having too little experience with upper end chardonnays)

As for judges, Julia no tasting panel would be complete without you and moi!

Judges - Julia, Jenise, Celia, Sue, and Angelina (Jolie-Pitt)! Let's get all that beauty in one place.

Here's how Mick's looking these days, he lives on Maui and happened to come to a show we were also at:

I might included a Ceritas or Failla Chardonnay and I like the idea of Leflaive although I don't have a specific one picked out. Another Chardonnay I might consider putting up from California is the Hirsch Vineyards Chardonnay with a few years on it (I'm really leaning toward the Sonoma Coast Chards.) I might put up a Shafer Merlot opposite a Chateau Angelus and a Beaulieu Vineyard Georges de Latour Cabernet Sauvignon (with at least ten years) opposite an appropriately aged wine from Chateau Lafite or Chateau Cos d'Estournel .

I will refrain from naming the judges although I like some of the ones already nominated. I wouldn't vote for Parker because I think he is too slanted toward a certain type of wine. David Schildknecht might be one I could get behind.
