I forget the exact cuvees but this mirrors my experience with Chidaine's 05s pretty much since release.

This thread is depressing, CT is more encouraging. Guess I'll just check a bottle of the 2005 out soon.

Note: nothing alcoholic about the bottle I opened.

The only Chidaine '05 I had were two bottles of the '05 Argiles that I had in their youth, both of which rocked my world. They were fairly ripe, though, so not sure whether they'll prove as ageworthy as I expect the '08s to be.

As Billy Gibbons once said, I'm nationwide. 8)

That was roughly my feeling. I buy Chidaine and Huet, essentially, as a component of my retirement plan [;)] and so am alarmed to read of them peaking at just a few years. I guess the Chidaine wines do not have the track record Huet's do for long aging; we are still learning about them. Of course, the downside (drinking them young) is no catastrophe. Myself, at the moment, I'm contemplating an extended dalliance with the Argiles.

Sadly, the IRS does not apply deferred compensation status to this class of retirement savings, but at least you don't get taxed on the dividends - sort of like the Roth IRA.

Yeah, we should write our Congresspersons and request a provision for this in the no-doubt-upcoming income tax reform legislation.

Maybe Warren Buffet will get behind our position.
