I have specifically had Michigan Cherry wine, Vermont Apple wine and Massachusetts Blueberry wine with Asian food. I would not consider any to have been standouts.

Well, of course, it does depend on the specific wine and its style, aside from the fact that it might just come down to personal tastes.

When I first got into wine all the "experts" in those days all agreed that "all" wine was made from grapes period, nothing else could be called wine. I remember even a legend such as Andre Tchel.-----ef telling that to me personally. Have things changed and when? I'm not that much of a perfectionist but just curious????

Yes and no, Lou.

If it's "wine", it is made from grapes.

If it's not made from grapes, it has to say on the label what it is made of (apple wine, cherry wine, dandelion wine, garlic wine).

I'm another fan of Trimbach Gewurztraminer. I noticed that my grocery store has the 2007 vintage on the shelf. Is this a current release or is it likely to be past prime drinking?

Heck, I think Thor is still working on the 1907.


His notes on the 1907 should be posted soon. Right after New Zealand #523 and the LA Taco-Mobile Roach Coach special.

Thor has a tasting glass with his name engraved on it at Trimbach. His picture is also in the Trimbach hall of fame. :roll:

Just opened the `07 Trimbach. I find it a tad sweet, not dry, in my opinion. Has a touch of bitterness on the finish which I think is typique! All the traditional nuances are there however and great with Singapore noodles and julienne of chicken in teriyake sauce.
