Hoist on me own petard, I just received an email from Binny's in Chicago announcing the arrival of BN from Duboeuf, Drouhin, Dupeuble and... Vissoux  I'm still waiting for that beachfront panorama, though :D

I don't know about other areas but the demand for BN has really died down over the last few years in our store. The public has really wised up, BN in my estimation is like bad strawberry pop. :( We've always felt bad  how anybody could consider BN "drink worthy".

I wasn't planning to do this, but I wandered into my neighborhood wine shop before dinner last night and they had a bottle of 2010 Dubouef Nouveau open.

Lord help me, it was good! But it was good in a way that only the Anti Flavor Wine Elite would like, and therein lies a story. I'll post it later this morning.

In comparison to NYC or SF... yes! Didn't you know that I live in the outermost suburb of Chicagoland, Salil?

Did have a BN opened last night to start a Burgundy tasting.

2010 Domaine de la Madone Beaujolais-Villages Nouveau Le Perréon
It has arrived! Bright red fruits with a little grapey sweetness, nice acidity and freshness, pleasant sipper if rather simple.

At the Beaujolais dinner last night I wasn't excited about the BN but did like (and took home two bottles of) the 2008 Julienas Chateau des Capitans and will also be ordering some 2009 Beaujolais Cru wines.
