Ben this is one of the two main reasons that I don't do burgundy. Well maybe it is one of three. I have never found it desirable to kiss frogs, and my budget does not lend itself to spend $20 - $30 range. thirdly, it seems that every year is the vintage of the decade with (not only) burgs that while I know what splendor I might miss out on, I tend to pass anyway, so that I can be sure of getting something drinkable to my palate. I love pinot, just wish I could afford to drink it.
