For me, 2 weeks is the point where I start wondering what needs doing back at work, so 3 weeks total is about all I can ever take (I run my own law office). I love the south, though and it will be hard to leave for sure.

One of the best things to come along for winers in a long, long time.

Hoke, do you use Google Earth Pro? I think that costs about $400 to purchase, then there is an annual renewal for I don't know how much. I have the free version, and it is pretty amazing at that. Can't afford the $400 one though.

Just the free version for me too, Bob. Enjoy that just fine, and don't need to spend the money for the pro.

Always a problem for me too, since I run my own cat herd. :)

My friend Chris Howell, winemaker at Cain Five on Spring Mountain in Napa is visiting. Last night, before dinner with friends, he handed everyone a pair of special (eye)glasses and projected Google Earth images of vineyard regions (Burgundy, Bordeaux, Napa) *in 3-D*. This was thrilling and makes me very glad to be alive in the Internet age :D.

Best regards,

So Alex, where would one get 3D glasses? That would be fun, and it might be a little scary if one looked at a 3D projection of some of the German vineyards.Peter Ruhrberg has some fantastic vineyard pictures on his German wine page(s) at http://www.winepage.de/ they are well worth looking at.

The glasses were the cheap kind they hang out at films like Avatar: one green lens, one red one.

Gosh, I remember those from 50 years ago. Not likely to find it at K-mart though.
