I'm guessing it has a French source - just from the poetic style and sentiment.

You can see it here: http://www.definiscommunications.com/bl ... -a-speech/
but I presume that is not the answer,

I think it is a great philosopher or social observer. Could it be a translation from the Greek?
Yes, and how many deaths will it take 'til he knows
That too many people have died?

My last wild guess.....with romance like that it might well have been either the good Don Quixote or his faithful Sancho Panza.

On which I officially give up. 8)

Aw Rogov, you've given up. :(

Recently I had a bottle of Spanish wine and it had a white synthetic cork on which this lovely quote was written. As I said, I have no idea of the source and as no-one is adamantly sure of the source either, the company's marketing boffs may even have written it themselves.

Anyone want to try and guess the wine. Clue: It was not Rioja, otherwise I would have mentioned it in the Rioja thread.

JC, it indeed has Monastrell in the blend but no Garnacha and is not from Ribera del Duero.

Probably that upstart Jumilla would be right :D

Now what wine from Jumilla, with Monastrell as part of the blend, is likely to have a snazzy white synthetic cork printed with this evocative quote - in English no less?

Layer cake was a term we used in geology to describe limestone formations. I like chocolate and cream layer cakes too. What layer cake are you talking about?

Not Altos de Luzon, btw.
