I have never had any problem with Speiglau and I own a number of different glasses from them. I have not had a single glass etch or become cloudy. Some I know were purchased after they became part of Riedel but others I have owned for quite some time and I think date to before Riedel owned them. I should note that I do hand wash all my stems except the Schott Zwiesel Tritans which I put into the machine. However, I have returned home more than once to find other (unauthorized) stems in the dishwasher so I konw that all of the glasses have gone through at least a couple cycles when I am not there to wash them.

Hi Mark - Good to have another Hoosier on board. We are small, but mighty corn-fed contingent.

We have scads of stem, and non-stem wear, but we use the Vinum series Bordeaux glasses and Champagne flutes for pretty much everything. We do have a couple Burgundy bowls for the increasingly rare occasions when we drink a good Burg. I would like to try one of the Sommelier series glasses, but it will be a cold day in hell before I spend $100+ on a single wine stem.
