Is this just too geeky, handy as it may be?

with all of the jostling that goes on at some of the bigger wine tasting events, I could see a very big stain in someone's future.

I am really struggling how to address your suggestion without saying too much. :)

No, go ahead and say too much, Jenise. Yaniger's probably not paying attention in this forum anyway. Now, Robert, well.....

If you don't way to say anything, pictures will be okay.

Thousands of times! The things I think of saying but don't would fill a book--considering that I appear to operate with no restraint whatsoever, that's pretty scary, isn't it?

So there IS a benefit of being smaller than average. For women, anyways...

Tom Hill may remember this lady, as I certainly do, who found a way to enjoy wine and get plenty of room around the pourer's tables in the 1890's:

How times have changed; I suppose she wouldn't attract any attention in these wine geeky days. :)

Lizbeth, we all know that size doesn't matter. Right?

Bob
Variants of these have been used at wine festivals in New Zealand for years. The one you have pictured looks a particularly sturdy holder - although it is a bigger glass than is used at festivals here.
I reckon it was designed by a male as they work better for guys and reasonably flat chested girls. For others it tends to bounce around a bit when you walk, which can be dangerous for your clothing if there is wine inside your glass, never mind losing your precious sample of wine.

And here we see the real advantage that this version has over the codpiece-type.
