It has been a while since the last time I had a Flam Blanc, so I was happy for the opportunity to have one from the 2016 vintage. It's well delineated with grassy notes that leave their mark. However, as pleasant as it is, it's best suited as an opening wine at the start of a meal, less so as one to ponder over its duration. It's a blend of almost equal parts Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. Following that I had the Hagafen Prix Melange 2007. Although a Californian it felt French, delivering more in the way of earthen flavors of mushroom, tilled earth and leaves than in the way of exuberant fruit.

Best Regards,
Pinchas
