I had the opportunity to taste wine from a relatively new boutique Israeli winery, Five Stones, drinking their D vs G 2017, that's mostly Gewurztraminer with a substantial amount of Sauvignon Blanc. I found it lacking in acid to the point that it annoyed me, and although there was nothing off putting with the wine, there wasn't enough flavor to compensate for the lack of acid. The red I had, was the Four Gates Cabernet Sauvignon 2010. This tastes like a high mountain cab, with a lean body and traces of fruit, but with swathes of tar and turned earth that lend it a wide ranges of flavors ranging from bitter, to earthy. While I'm no expert on terroir, to me this feels more European than Californian.
