Hi Harry,
With dinner that was somewhat lighter than the traditional Friday evening meal, I had the Tabor Adama Zohar 2014, a white blend containing Sauvignon Blanc, 40%, and equal parts Chardonnay, Roussanne and French Colombard, that coalesce seamlessly into an elegant flowery bouquet of scents and flavors. The opposing forces are tamed in a yin-yang union, rather than behaving as offsetting centrifugal forces, such that even the lack of acidity works to accentuate the wine's mellowness without coming across as a flaw. For lunch I opened my first bottle of the Matar Stratus 2014, a Syrah showcasing dark fruit, albeit restrained, but whose distinguishing attributes are its meaty flavors, not so much pastrami as corned beef; flavors that would definitely grab the attention of those who would typically have their Syrahs garlanded with flowers, sprinkled with pepper and oozing jam.
Best Regards,
